Epson's product design has again been recognized by iF Product Design Awards 2012 at the official awards ceremony held in Munich on February 10th. Products across Epson's range were selected for this year's award, including its business projectors; label, receipt, airline boarding pass, retail, and photo printers, and they will now carry the coveted iF logo in certain geographies.
Established in 1953, the iF product design award is today among the most important awards for innovative product design. The award evaluation criteria include design quality, workmanship, choice of materials, degree of innovation, environmental friendliness, functionality, ergonomics, safety, brand value, and universal design.
Hiroaki Sakai, GM, Imaging Products Design Department, Seiko Epson Corporation, commented, "At Epson, we go to great lengths to blend usability based on an understanding of actual user situations with stylish attributes. We also strive to reduce the environmental impact and improve user flexibility through compact designs. Winning these awards really highlights Epson's expertise not only in the photo arena that we are renowned, but also demonstrates the depth and consistency of design excellence we're achieving across the broad range of products we offer.”
