IDC names NComputing as the largest provider of enterprise client devices in India. IDC's Worldwide Quarterly Enterprise Client Devices Tracker Q3 2011 shows that nine out of every ten enterprise client devices purchased in India were NComputing.
According to Manish Sharma, VP, Asia Pacific, NComputing, Inc., “This latest IDC report reinforces NComputing’s position as the leader in the enterprise client devices market in India , which has been our fastest growing market.” He continued, We intend to expand the market still further through the introduction of new products, by growing our partner and channel base, and by increasing existing and new customer adoption.”
According to Manasi Yadav, Market Analyst, IDC Centre (Consultancy and Research), “Desktop virtualization is now being adopted across all market sectors including education, government, manufacturing and healthcare. NComputing disrupted legacy economics and technology models to put high performance computing into the hands of business users and students at the lowest total cost possible. This is a key driver behind their market growth in India.”
In Q3 2011, NComputing had achieved 200% YoY (year-on-year) growth in shipments of its virtual desktop solutions in India. As per the company it has achieved particular success in the education and public sectors, having supplied 60% of its solutions in schools throughout India. 30% of sales were to small and mid-sized businesses (SMB), a market that is increasingly turning to virtual desktops as a high performance, low cost desktop computing solution.
NComputing recorded a recent technology breakthrough in the performance and economics of VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) with the release of vSpace Server 6.5 that delivers the ability to support up to 100 users in a single operating system.
