Spaceage Unveils Remote Data Center

Generates alarms for variance in parameters

May 30, 2011

Spaceage Security Systems, a leading provider of customized solutions for telecom infrastructure domain has recently launched a Remote Rack/Data Center Monitoring solution for Data centers, Racks, BPO, Call centers, Server rooms, practically for any organization that cares for its IT infrastructure and wants to ensure its high uptime. The system (Rack mountable as well as Wall mountable) monitors critical environment parameters at individual Rack level as well as for multiple Data Centers, to pre-empt impending problems.

The system generates alarms for variance in parameters like high/low temperature, humidity, high/low voltages, Smoke/Fire in the rack, door open, current consumption high, break-ins, UPS battery voltage, UPS failure etc. The system can also monitor AC Energy parameters, DC Energy parameters, Fuel level for DG, individual Rack power consumption, etc.

All such parameters that are monitored at the individual rack level are communicated to central server using TCP/IP (option for GPRS/SMS is also there). The Central server can monitor almost unlimited Racks or multiple server rooms/data centers that may be spread geographically. The central server software is a powerful software that has a dashboard to monitor the alarms as and when they happen. The alarms grab the attention by changing colors with time to indicate the criticality. What’s more, the server can also send SMS to relevant technicians, supervisors, managers and vendors as and when the alarm happens to ensure 24X7X365 monitoring. The server can automatically send emails as well as schedule periodic reports. A very powerful reporting tool allows to generate reports as per the customer needs.

The system has been designed by keeping in mind the practical problems that may be faced by IT managers, System Administrators, CIOs, CTOs etc.  to ensure 24X7 uptime of their facilities.

Offered with a Warranty of one year, the Data Monitoring Solution comprises of a Monitoring Hardware and Application Server Software. The Monitoring Hardware is a rack mountable system with a range of user selectable sensors.  The monitoring hardware also has a LCD display for local monitoring. The user may choose to start with local monitoring and later deploy remote monitoring without any changes to the local monitoring hardware. The intelligent Firmware and TCP/IP connectivity ensure that all the local alarms are communicated in real time to the central server. The Server Software consolidates information from almost unlimited number of ‘Monitoring Hardware’ at remote locations and presents the same in a user friendly format at the central server.

Talking about the Solution, Mr. Atul Khosla, Director, Spaceage Security Systems Ltd. said “Spaceage prides itself in having a complete in-house manufacturing unit which offers customer centric solutions in the area of safety and security. Remote Data Center/Server room Monitoring solution, the recent offering of Spaceage is an extremely scalable solution as it can be implemented for monitoring a variety of configurations like individual Data Center, Multiple Data centers, Server Rooms and individual or cluster of hundreds of Network/Server Racks. “

“Providing flexibility in implementation, the users can define multiple Circle or States and Multiple Sites within a circle or state and can also select the number of sensors  needed for monitoring as per their requirement. The CTO/CIO can get reports as per specific requirements,” added, Mr. Khosla.

Further, the system can be purchased at a Price of Rs. 10,000/-onwards, depending upon the capabilities selected and numbers of users of central software.
