The two day event from 20-21st saw the convergence of 150 multiple skillsets’ partners from pan India along with the senior leadership of the Indian IT Industry.
SME Channels, the leading IT Magazine of India, hosted the largest partner event – SME Channels Summit and Awards 2019, in Goa at Hotel Le Meridian, Calangute. Started on 20th September evening, the evening ended on 21st September evening with a gala cocktail dinner. More than 150 people comprising – 100 Solution partners, 50 CIOs and 20 technology vendors converged on the venue and shared the platform for two productive days.
The industry’s first, the two day mega event which started at 06:00pm with an Opening Remark by Sanjay Mohapatra, Group Editor, Accent Infomedia Pvt. Ltd. He warmly welcomed all the guests present in the event and introduced the agenda to the guest which was followed by a Guru Talk on Latest Technology Trends and how they are helping the industry grow. The talk was given by B. Raghavendran, Managing Director Cisco India and SAARC.
This was followed by a keynote session by Srihari Gopinath, Director at Hewlett Packard Enterprise on Digital transformation. He said, “Digital transformation is happening all around us – increasingly at what we call the edge, transforming entire industries – and opening new possibilities in a hyper-connected world. They believe HPE is the best partner to help you take full advantage of every aspect of these powerful changes. They believe that technology’s greatest promise lies in the good they can do and the challenges they can overcome — together”.
Jitendra Ghughal, Director – Channels, India & SAARC, Fortinet Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. Speaking about how channel business can be beneficial, he enumerated the growth and profitability of the partners.
Amarish Karnik, Head channels and alliances, Veeam software gave a presentation on Availability for the Hybrid Cloud Environment. He said, “The backup data is like a crude oil. The way crude can be used to generate various products similarly companies can use the backup data for test and development, reporting, analysis”.
The official sessions for day one were concluded with CIO Select Products Awards 2019, before everyone was entertained by the saxophone rendition of Ranjan Chopra, Chairman, Team Computers and Cocktails and Dinner.
The second day started at 8:30 am with Breakfast Meetings of select partners with Pramod Sharda, CEO, IceWarp India, who demonstrated the power of IceWarp mail messaging solutions. This event also saw a power- packed keynote on the Trends of AI and ML by Anil Arora, Principal Data Scientist, SAS and Kunal Aman, Head Marketing, SAS. Shantaram Shinde, National Head – Channel Business at Netmagic Solutions (An NTT Communications Company), giving his presentation, expressed about the cloud solutions offered by his company.
The highlight of the event was Fireside Chat on Building Successful Enterprises: Moderated By Sanjay Mohapatra, Group Editor, Accent Infomedia publications. The panelists were Ranjan Chopra, Chairman, Team Computers, Devendra Taneja, CEO, PC Solutions and RK Malhotra, Director, Velocis systems Pvt ltd. When Ranjan Chopra brought in spiritual angel of doing business while building the successful organization, Rishi Malhotra, Director, Velocys spoke about the best HR practices and PC Solutions, CEO, Devendra Taneja deliberated on the practical methodologies of creating the organization growth.
Dilesh Acharya, AVP- Goa Region, D-Link India Ltd. In his presentation spoke about Digital India and D-Link’s solutions for the partners.
Highlighting the importance of IOT & Edge Computing and the Partners’ Growth, the event consisted of panel discussion moderated by Tushar Parekh, Managing Director, Silicon Netsecure Pvt. Ltd. The panelists for this discussion were Sujeet Narula, Managing Director, ABC Systems Pvt. Ltd., Akash Goel – Business Lead (India and SAARC) : LaCie, Pranav Pandya, Chariman, DEV Information Technology Ltd. and Ranjit Metrani, VP Sales & CRO, ESDS.
There was also a presentation by Vivek Upman, Enterprise Lead, South Asia, Seagate on Maximizing Datavalue. Nilesh Mistry – National Head (Channel & Alliances), ESDS gave a presentation on Digital Transformation. Engaging talks were presented by Vikramjeet Bhatti, Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), Akash Goel – Business Lead (India and SAARC), LaCie and Sachin Waingankar, Asst. Vice President & Head – Cloud, Web Werks India Pvt. Ltd. The event also had a talk on Automated Real-Time Breach Detection & Prevention by Jobbin James, Sr. Manager Sales Engineering – India/SAARC, SonicWall Inc.
The cherry on the cake was presentation on Industry 4.0 and Adoption Status by “Vipul Anand, Senior VP, IT, Hindware.
The event also saw Lucky draws from IceWarp, Web Werks and Cloudstrats with attractive gifts for the winners.
The event concluded with the much coveted Super 100 Partner Awards 2019, where partners between 10cr to 1500cr turnover were honored for their skillful performances, significant achievements, business development and IT projects implemented in the last 12 months. This time the parameter to enter the award category was Rs.10 crore revenue. The awards were divided into four categories – Partner Elite, Champion, Master and Specialist. The awardees were based on the nomination process and winners were decided on the basis of the turnover, growth percentage and solution practice.
