UiPath Collaborates with Bharathiar University to Bring RPA Skills to Students

UiPath has partnered with Bharathiar University, a State University based out of Coimbatore, as part of their Academic Alliance program. Through this partnership, UiPath will collaborate with Bharathiar University along with 130 affiliated colleges of the university and provide the necessary knowledge and tools to enable the mission of a robot for every student. The Robot for Every Student initiative affords the ability to introduce RPA to the entire university, college or campus, whether the student is majoring in technology, business or any other field. The students can create their own software robot “assistants” to help them prepare for classes, do faster and better research, search for financial aid or jobs or even innovate a new process or solution to support non-profit work for the betterment of society. The company shall also make available its educator readiness workshop to the faculty of these colleges in order for them to develop and adopt RPA skills which can be further integrated into the curriculum for the students.

The onset of COVID – 19 has acted as a catalyst for organizations to adopt automation technologies. According to a recent report by NASSCOM titled COVID – 19: Tipping Point for Automation, the global industry, including India, will require unprecedented and concerted attempts to recover and revive from the aftermath of the COVID-19 crisis, and in this process, it will find itself at a crucial tipping point of mass-transition towards wide-scale automation adoption. Companies have already started looking at automation beyond cost efficiency for supply chain security, employee health and safety, etc. With this, the report suggests there will be an increase in the job opportunities in the RPA sector. In line with this, UiPath aims to upskill students at the collegiate level to fully harness these future growth opportunities in India.

Speaking about the partnership, Prof. P. Kaliraj, Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Bharathiar University said, “Our partnership with UiPath is in line with our vision to make our students future ready with an acumen for automation. We would like to thank UiPath for partnering with us in our efforts to make this a reality.”

“Today, RPA cuts across sectors, enabling not just players in BFSI and healthcare, but also traditional MSMEs and SMBs in industries such as jewellery making, agarbatti production, social sector, etc. This accelerating adoption of automation will lead to an unprecedented demand in RPA skills,” said Manish Bharti, President, UiPath India and South Asia. “Through our partnership with entities such as Bharathiar University, we want to democratize RPA and build the much-needed pool of future-ready RPA talent,” he added.

On successful completion of courses under the UiPath Academic Alliance program, students will receive a course completion certificate jointly issued by UiPath and the partner institution. These students will also be better prepared to clear the UiPath Certified Professional examination, an industry recognized RPA credential.

The UiPath Academic Alliance program aims at building skills needed for the new automation era and helps build careers in one of the fastest growing sectors in the IT industry. The program provides a broad and deep curriculum for students of all backgrounds with hands-on technical and business skills they need to succeed. Till date, UiPath has partnered with more than 200 leading academic and skill development institutions across the country, thereby benefiting 100,000 students.
