HID Global Expands its WorkforceID Unified Identity and Access Management Platform with Cloud-Based Multi-Factor Authentication

HID Global Adds Cloud-Based Multi-Factor Authentication to its WorkforceID Unified Identity and Access Management Platform

Global, a global leader in trusted identity solutions, announced today the general availability of the WorkforceIDTM Authentication solution, the latest addition to its cloud platform for creating a seamless, effortless experience for issuing, managing, and using identity credentials in physical and digital workplaces. Workforce ID Authentication expands on HID’s well-established and widely deployed multi-factor authentication platform for consumer applications such as online and mobile banking. It is the latest addition to a growing portfolio of employee ID badges, visitor management, and other trusted workforce identity solutions.

“A person’s identity has become the new security perimeter in a hybrid workplace that now extends from home to the office and everywhere in between,” said Julian Lovelock, VP Global Business Segment, IAM, with HID Global. “The addition of multi-factor authentication to the HID WorkforceID platform advances our vision of a unified and flexible approach to identity and access management for an organization’s employees, partners and contractors. This is the next step in providing a suite of applications that manage digital and physical identity credentials through one convenient cloud platform.”

The HID® WorkforceID Authentication solution, which is central to HID’s overall multi-factor authentication portfolio, enables organisations to provide a streamlined, simple, and secure login experience to every user and application in today’s diverse and dynamic enterprise environment. It integrates seamlessly with Microsoft’s on-premise Active Directory (AD) or the cloud-based Azure AD. This platform is situated in the environment to enable:

Simplified deployment and administration: Simple integration with cloud-based, on-premises, or hybrid legacy applications, as well as existing enterprise technology, such as Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) for remote login.
Multiple authentication factors: HID® ActivIDTM one-time password tokens and security keys, smart cards, and the HID® ApproveTM mobile app allow users to authenticate to applications and deny fraudulent login attempts using their phone.
Standards-based security: ISO 27001 standards, SOC2-certification, and EU GDPR compliance
Intuitive user experience: Including self-service tasks for configuring authentication methods.

The WorkforceID Authentication solution complements HID’s broader authentication ecosystem, which includes a comprehensive credential offering and the WorkforceID Digital Credential Manager, which allows for the easy management of workforce authenticators used for both physical and digital access.
