Latest virtual machines offer breakthrough performance for general-purpose, HPC, and AI workloads

AMD has announced that Google Cloud’s new C4D and H4D virtual machines are now powered by 5th Gen AMD EPYC™ processors, unlocking high-performance, scalable, and cost-efficient computing across cloud environments.

The C4D instances are designed for general-purpose workloads and AI inference, showing up to 80% higher throughput per vCPU over previous generations. Meanwhile, the H4D instances, optimized for high-performance computing (HPC), leverage Cloud RDMA and AMD EPYC CPUs to efficiently scale workloads to tens of thousands of cores.

“We’re excited to bring our latest EPYC processors to the cloud—delivering powerful, scalable performance for modern workloads.” – Dan McNamara, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Server Business Unit, AMD

“Since our launch, 5th Gen AMD EPYC solutions have been widely adopted across OEMs and enterprises,” said Dan McNamara, SVP and GM, Server Business, AMD. “Our deep technology partnership with Google Cloud is delivering consistent high performance and cost efficiency to customers.”

The VMs are available in preview now, with general availability expected later this year across multiple regions.
