AWS Expands Marketplace in India to Empower Local Innovation and Simplify Cloud Procurement

Ruba Borno, VP, Global Specialists & Partners, AWS,

AWS Marketplace expansion in India marks a major step in democratizing cloud innovation and simplifying digital procurement for enterprises.

In a move poised to accelerate India’s digital economy, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the expansion of AWS Marketplace in India, allowing customers and partners to transact directly in Indian Rupees (INR). This localised model simplifies procurement, invoicing, and tax compliance — opening new growth opportunities for Indian software and services companies.

With this expansion, Indian customers can now purchase offerings from global and local technology providers such as Cisco, CrowdStrike, Deloitte, eMudhra, Freshworks, IBM, Kore.ai, Palo Alto Networks, Salesforce, Sonata Software, and VideoCX.io through AWS Marketplace in INR. The platform, which already lists over 30,000 solutions across 70+ software categories, streamlines product evaluation, procurement, and governance for enterprises of all sizes.

Ruba Borno, VP, Global Specialists & Partners, AWS, emphasized that the move aligns with India’s pace of digital innovation. “India’s rapidly growing digital economy demands procurement solutions that match the pace of innovation. AWS Marketplace in India enables local transactions, simplified tax compliance, and streamlined workflows—giving Indian customers faster access to cutting-edge technologies and Indian sellers a proven pathway to scale.”

Praveen Sridhar, Head of Partner Business, AWS India and South Asia, noted that the expansion reflects AWS’s deep commitment to India’s tech ecosystem. “It opens new opportunities for ISVs, system integrators, and channel partners to scale efficiently while enabling customers to deploy solutions faster and with less complexity.”

Leading Indian enterprises such as Swiggy, Observe.AI, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) already rely on AWS Marketplace to centralize billing and accelerate innovation. Girish Ramachandran, President – Growth Markets, TCS, remarked that this partnership will “deliver greater agility and faster innovation for enterprises across India through cloud-first strategies.”

By bridging local innovation with global enterprise demand, AWS Marketplace’s India expansion is set to redefine how organizations procure, deploy, and scale technology in an AI-driven era.
