Move to localize 100% passive antenna production; India to emerge as global export hub

Ericsson is expanding its manufacturing footprint in India through the localization of its Ericsson Antenna System (EAS) production. In collaboration with VVDN Technologies, the company will fully localize passive antenna production by June 2025, supporting India’s 5G rollout and boosting global supply resilience.

“Expanding in India strengthens our ability to deliver cutting-edge technology at speed.” — Mikael Eriksson, Head, Ericsson Antenna System

The antennas will serve both domestic and export markets, positioning India as a strategic hub in Ericsson’s global supply chain alongside Mexico, Romania, and China.

“This expansion reflects our commitment and long-term investment in India’s industrial and digital future,” said Nitin Bansal, Managing Director, Ericsson India.

Ericsson has been present in India since 1903 and continues to play a pivotal role in its telecom evolution—from 2G to 5G.
