Milestone Elevates Surveillance Intelligence with XProtect and Arcules Upgrades

Milestone XProtect Arcules surveillance upgrades

New cloud capabilities, forensic search tools, and unified access controls redefine operational efficiency for security teams

Milestone Systems has announced major updates to its flagship XProtect 2025 R3 and Arcules cloud platform, introducing smarter monitoring, faster investigations, and deeper cloud integration for security professionals across industries.

The latest XProtect release introduces Remote Manager, a proactive monitoring tool that enables administrators to detect and resolve system issues—such as full databases or server health alerts—without on-site intervention. Event-based notifications now span cameras, servers, hosts, and devices, ensuring faster response times and streamlined operations.

Granular video permissions and new Role-based Access Control for integrated access systems allow site owners to define who sees what, reducing unauthorized access risks. By eliminating separate logins for third-party systems, XProtect now offers a unified interface for managing complex security environments.

Meanwhile, the Arcules platform delivers powerful enhancements for cloud-based surveillance. Multi-Camera Forensic Video Search enables teams to analyze footage across multiple angles in a single interface—ideal for emergency response, campus safety, and traffic monitoring. Dual-Layer Motion Detection combines Arcules analytics with on-camera algorithms to ensure critical events are captured and stored reliably.

Extended Camera-to-Cloud Compatibility now supports devices with limited internal memory, making cloud surveillance more accessible and cost-effective. External Case Sharing allows secure, time-limited video evidence sharing with law enforcement and legal teams via expiring links—no Arcules account required.

Together, these updates reflect Milestone’s commitment to operational intelligence, open-platform flexibility, and real-world usability. From manufacturing and retail to law enforcement and airports, Milestone’s solutions continue to empower organizations to protect people, assets, and infrastructure with precision and scale.

Milestone Systems, headquartered in Copenhagen and part of the Canon Group since 2014, serves over 1,500 global customers with its XProtect VMS, BriefCam analytics, and Arcules VSaaS offerings.
