Trend Micro, a leading cybersecurity solutions provider, has successfully concluded the Bengaluru leg of its World Tour in India, amplifying its call for a shift from reactive to proactive security. The event brought together over 150 attendees from 70+ enterprises and government bodies, marking a key milestone in a four-city tour across India. Centered on the annual theme for this year, “Proactive Security Starts Here,” the event underscored the urgency of adopting forward-looking, AI-driven defense strategies to strengthen cyber resilience.
During her keynote presentation, Sharda Tickoo, Country Manager for India and SAARC at Trend Micro, emphasized the increasing adoption of artificial intelligence by attackers to speed up cyberattacks, thereby reducing exploit timelines from weeks to hours. She added that defensive AI is developing even more rapidly, allowing real-time detection, automated response, and proactive mitigation. By introducing Agentic AI as the new frontier, she described how intelligent agents can collaborate to provide a single and proactive defense solution. At the core of this initiative lies Trend Vision One™, which is integrated with Trend Cybertron, the cybersecurity industry’s first LLM. Together they offer predictive analytics, risk scoring, and automation remediation functionalities to counter advanced and evolving cyber threats. Nevertheless, despite the revolutionary impact of AI on security operations, Sharda highlighted that human oversight remains necessary for effective governance.

The panel discussion titled “Proactive Security: The Future of Cyber Defense”, provided insights from Ratan Jyoti, CISO, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank; Karthikeyan Dhayalan, AVP and Head of Global Operations, Cognizant; and Nishikant Panda, Vice President, Mphasis. The conversation focused on the shift from reactive defenses to intelligence-led, proactive security. Jyoti stressed that true cyber resilience depends on embedding business context and cultural awareness into security programs, enabling organizations to anticipate threats rather than merely respond to them. Dhayalan highlighted the importance of continuous exposure management using external breach trends to assess internal risk and adjust defense accordingly. Panda called for a “security by design” approach, where sustained visibility and measurable awareness help create a security-conscious workforce. The discussion concluded with a consensus that proactive security is not solely a technical investment; it requires alignment across cybersecurity, risk, and compliance to operate effectively and deliver resilient, business-aligned outcomes.
