The achievement reaffirms the employee-first culture at Genesys, and marks the fourth consecutive year the organisation has received the award
Genesys’ office in India has achieved the prestigious Great Place to Work certification in the large organisations’ category. This marks the fourth consecutive year Genesys has received this accolade and is a testament to the company’s strong workplace culture and continued commitment to building an environment for employees to thrive.
The Great Place to Work certification ranks among some of the most definitive ‘Employer-of-Choice’ initiatives globally, with nominees undergoing a rigorous work culture assessment process. For an organisation to get certified, 70% or more of its employee respondents should rate the organisation as a great workplace, and its people practices should be rated 2.5 or more on a 5-point scale by the Great Place to Work® Institute.
“We are honoured to be certified as a Great Place to Work. This spectacular achievement is only possible because of our employees. I believe recognitions like these are testimony to the high level of trust our employees have in Genesys and the cohesive work culture we have instilled. The secret sauce to our success has been our employee first approach, collaborative effort of leadership, camaraderie and our best in breed HR practices,” said Divya Sathyan, Head – Human Resources, Genesys India.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Genesys has required employees to work remotely to ensure their health and safety. Being mindful that the working culture must still be fostered despite remote working models, Genesys has organised digital interactive teambuilding events for its employees such as online yoga sessions, virtual hang-out sessions, open virtual office hours with executives and managers, and more. The company has also rolled out training and development courses to ensure team members have the support and resources to navigate this period with topics to help them stay connected, handle uncertainty, manage virtual teams, build resilience, develop coping skills and more.
“The leadership-connect sessions provide us an opportunity to listen to how employees are dealing with the pandemic and identify where more support might be needed. We value employee feedback and are committed to helping employees smoothly transit to remote working, empowering them not just to contribute to work but simultaneously take care of their family, during these challenging times,” said Atul Edlabadkar, Vice President – Engineering & Chennai Site Leader, Genesys India.
In addition, Genesys is also engaging with the communities that has supported its growth throughout the years. Its employees are giving back to the communities where they work and live through various CSR programmes such as donating masks and contributing generously for pandemic relief.
“There are three things that truly differentiate the Genesys workplace – a culture driven by mutual trust that promotes meaningful contribution by the employees, an inherent environment that challenges the employees to grow and learn new skills leading to their professional growth, and a flexible workplace that allows employees more freedom to decide how work is integrated alongside their social lives. These collectively make the Genesys work culture unique and contribute greatly to making it a great place to work,” said Raja Lakshmipathy, Managing Director, Genesys India.
