Deal boosts 26 GHz 5G holdings across key Indian telecom circles

Bharti Airtel and its subsidiary Bharti Hexacom have entered into definitive agreements with Adani Data Networks Ltd (ADNL) to acquire 400 MHz of 26 GHz 5G spectrum across six critical telecom circles, including Gujarat, Mumbai, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

“This spectrum deal strengthens Airtel’s 5G footprint while accelerating our enterprise and consumer offerings.”

This acquisition significantly bolsters Airtel’s mmWave spectrum portfolio, key for ultra-fast 5G and enterprise use cases like IoT and private networks.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and standard conditions as per spectrum trading guidelines.

Airtel, with over 550 million customers across India and Africa, is among the world’s top three mobile operators and India’s largest integrated communications solutions provider.
