Nuance Announces New Dragon Distributor for India

Nuance Communications has signed a new distributor partnership agreement with Redington Limited. The Indian company will supply Nuance’s flagship Dragon professional and consumer speech recognition software to resellers throughout India.

‘We are delighted to announce our new partnership with Redington,’ said Derek Austin, Nuance’s Sales Manager Asia Pacific, Dragon Professional and Consumer. ‘Nuance Dragon technology is the world’s leading speech recognition solution for writing documents and demand for Dragon continues to build. Our partnership with Redington will extend local reseller access to our Dragon platform, grow our end-user customer base, and support our partner-centric distribution strategy.’

Redington has over 25 years of experience in the Indian marketplace and is a leading supply chain solutions provider for global brands of IT hardware and software products to its channel partners via 81 sales locations and 147 warehouses.

Chosen from a pool of high-calibre distributors, Derek explained that Redington’s quality engagement with its resellers and channel partners, and its sound track record supporting them, were key to its choice. Nuance was also impressed with Redington’s systems, people and integrity.

Under the agreement, Chennai-based Redington will distribute Nuance Dragon Home, Dragon Professional Individual, and Dragon Professional Group – individual and enterprise solutions.

Nuance’s Dragon delivers powerful document creation software that enhances the productivity of busy individuals, businesses and organisations through the use of personalised speech recognition.

Dragon, which transcribes English and includes support for Indian accents, provides fast, accurate dictation and high-performance speech recognition features, such as custom vocabulary and commands, to help boost productivity. Users can also send emails, create and complete forms within the latest Windows applications and command their computer – all by voice.

‘Our collaboration with Redington will allow us to harness their considerable expertise in the Indian marketplace, and we look forward to working with them and developing a fruitful relationship,’ said Derek.
